Comment: I have found this program really helpful, especially throughout my Biology GCSE. If you don't have a lot of space on your computer, you would be better to find something different, or it will take you ages to find the info you want. This program is very detailed and has the skeletal, muscle, circularitory systems and a test feature. If you feel you need to know more about the human body this is a good program because it can be simple/hard, it is fun to operate and the information is up to date, everything is colourful, you will want to play on this program when you get it... BELIEVE ME!! Hope you enjoy the software, if you decide to buy it.

When parents run out of answers ("Mum, what does the pancreas do?"), try offering the aspiring surgeon a copy of DK's The Ultimate Human Body. This DVD entertainingly teaches kids how the body works, using animations, diagrams and spoken descriptions. The three main sections make up a multimedia encyclopedia of the body. The Systems Scanner is a good starting point, with short answers to questions such as how do I swallow?. The 3-D Scanner allows you to navigate around a cutaway image of the body, with links to animated videos and statistics about the body's workings. Finally, the X-Ray Scanner displays the skeleton and the names of bones. A multiple choice Body Challenge Quiz tests whether you've been paying attention while browsing. After a wrong answer you can link directly to the page containing the correct fact. Two documentary videos complete the package. The first examines the skeleton, its adaptations in vertebrates from sharks to antelopes, and its role as a symbol of death and mortality. The second looks at the human machine, showing how the body's mechanical parts function together, from intricate organs like the ear to the powerful muscles of a sprinter. The presentation is designed for a wide age-range, with text explanations kept simple, and more technical terms included on diagram captions.
