Summary: Very good.
Comment: A pocket book which contains all the Japanese grammar. It's well laid-out , very clear and 'roomy' (no cramped chart or writings). Simply perfect.

Summary: Useful pocket grammar guide
Comment: If you want a handy pocket Japanese grammar guide, I would recommend this book highly. I don't think it's that useful as your *only* grammar book, since its coverage is wide rather than deep - this is prehaps unavoidable in a book so small.
My biggest problem with it is that with the exception of the first section describing the japanese writing system the book is entirely in romaji, without any kana or kanji. IMO, it would have been much improved by the addition of Japanese text with furigana. It also (like many Japanese books for english speakers) decides that using the Japanese names for the two basic classes of verbs (godan and ichidan) would be too confusing, and makes up it's own names for them.
Overall, it's well worth the price, and useful to keep in your pocket.

Summary: Excellent
Comment: If you're a beginner or an intermediate student, this book will prove to be an excellent reference for Japanese grammar. This book works best as a companion book when studying Japanese, but will also work well as a reference book to bring with you on your journey as it's small enough to fit in your pocket. It's well worth it's price!
