Summary: Good Advice But A Little Confusing
Comment: Feel Fab at 50
Body shape is crucial to finding clothes that flatter, as they determine the fabrics and styles that will move with you and not add on pounds. I think that S&T, though I am a fan, have moved away from the traditional image shapes such as pear and apple and come up with many more, probably unnecessarily. You really only need to understand where the curves or straight lines of your silhoutte appear and dress them accordingly. So a straight hipped woman with no bum would look great in a straight skirt in a stiff fabric. Curves need drape to skim. It's really quite simple. It was good to see proportions addressed and the photo's were also good. Is it the best book on the subject - not really - but it's a start for someone who isn't able to see a professional. What would have improved it is if other pieces of the image jigsaw were included such as personality and style preference, as this is why many make over programmes fail in the long term.

Summary: Helpful in parts
Comment: As a fan of T and S i bought this hoping it would advise me of the right styles for my shape which i must say that it did however the book is heavily padded out with other info which is not at all helpful if your not that shape. the part relevent to your own shape is only about 5 pages long and then the majority of the rest of the book is about all the other shapes. I'd recommend either borrowing this from the library and scanning the pages relevant to your shape for future ref or buying it from amazon then selling it on. it won't be a classic

Summary: A very very disappointed fan
Comment: I have been a T&S fan since they 've appeared on the horizon, and purchased all their upcoming books. HOWEVER this one is a total failure! Not only is confusing the 12 bodyshapes -none of my friends are able to identify themselves by it- but the advice given is wrong as well sometimes. They suggest wearing puffy sleeves /long shapeless knitted tunics with big boobes etc.Although there are more bodytypes identified nobody can fit in only one ! I can't even be bothered to look through the book! Don't waste your money ...
Customer Rating:
Summary: great advice if you fall neatly into a category
Comment: I really liked this book, the advice on what to wear and what to avoid is invaluable. The best part is the celebrity examples used, as you can copy them season after season, in the knowledge that what suits their body is likely to suit yours.
On the downside, I found myself to be difficult to categorise, (I'm either an hourglass, cello or skittle), and each body shape has different and sometimes conflicting advice so you cannot just blend the advice of several body shapes. (just in case your wondering.. broad shoulders, medium to large chest, small waist, big round bum, big hips, chunky thighs, shapely calves ? )
Customer Rating:
Summary: sensible & spot on
Comment: While T&S can be abrasive & dogmatic when it comes to their programmes & advice giving, it can be sensible and spot on. For the record I think I'm a cross between a goblet & hourglass and their recommendations for both shapes are making a difference in my wardrobe. Credit should also be given to their "Recycle your Wardrobe" section.
