Summary: WHAT AN INSPIRATION!!
Comment: i bought this book after seeing the TV drama on ITV1 and i enjoyed every minute of it. i am only a teenager myself and i thought that marie stubbs is an inspiration to everyone. this made me realise how important education is and i enjoyed everything about this book. i fully recommend this to anyone and now i'm off to buy the DVD!

Summary: Inspirational!!!
Comment: Having seen the Julie Walters Drama on TV we bought a 'school copy' of this book and it is currently 'doing the rounds' amongst the staff. I feel it should be compulsory reading for everyone connected with education - teachers, non-teaching school staff, governors - but also for parents! I am a member of the admin team at our school, our head has just finished reading the book and I am currently typing a list of her highlighted 'Marie Stubbs-isms' from the book as ideas for us to use in our school in future! This really is inspirational stuff!

Comment: Marie Stubbs is an inspiration for anyone in the education sector. As a young nursery nurse currently developing my qualifications and contemplating teaching, the determination and success of Lady Stubbs inspires and encourages me to enter the profession positively and imaginatively. An excellent example of how strong, positive characters and good management can change the attidues and approaches of children staff and parents.

Comment: This is an inspiring book that lets us all appreciate the warmth and sensitivity that can be injected into the sometimes cynical and shallow world of education. Marie Stubbs writes with gentle humour and applicable insight. This book is not just for Heads but any professional interested on how to achieve goals under difficult circumstances. I am just starting on the teaching path, but I know this book is going to see me through those difficult times.

Summary: inspiring
Comment: I am not a teacher, but found this womans ideas just amazing, she tells how children can learn from people actually doing the jobs the children might want in the outside world. Not bogged down by the closed 'teaching profession' an amazing woman, if only there were more teachers especially head teachers like her
