Summary: Recommended if you're studying C&G 6129 & 6089 at Level 2
Comment: As a book to support study on the current City & Guilds 6129 & 6089 level 2 Plumbing course it's ideal and much improved over the previous edition, which in some areas lacked content or clear illustration.
The book pretty much follows the units studied on the 6129 Tech Cert course and with this 2nd Edition, Employment Rights is discussed in a stand alone chapter, which apprentices are required to cover as part of the `framework' of qualifications at Level 2.
There is also a revision CD included which among other things gives an opportunity to answer sample questions in a similar format to the exams.

Summary: Need more information
Comment: This book never give me what I was expecting of it, am disappointing in that I needed more information and explanation in detail with the practical task from college and the pictures that are in the book there is no need giving pictures that are not fully informational in terms of labelling. This book aim at people with little or no knowledge of plumbing so it need to give more explanation. I am left at a cross road a lot of times with this book.
It could be much much better.

Summary: JTL Tech Cert Lev 2 6129
Comment: This is THE book to refer to if you're doing the C&G 6129 course. It leaves nothing out. If you're with OLCI please don't just rely on their own folder it's just not got the info in. This JTL book is clearly set out and really easy to absorb the info.The clear diagrams and explanations don't leave you wondering. Just buy it !

Summary: Excellent book for level 2 both 6129 and 6089
Comment: Here at PPL Training in York we used to use the old JTL Level 2 plumbing book for our City & Guilds NVQ level 2 courses. This lastest book combines both the NVQ side and the tech cert (6129) side, which is a good step forward as BOTH qualifications must be taken to gain a NVQ 2 in Plumbing.
The book is clearly laid out with individual chapters on the course structure. Errors from the previous versions have been corrected and along with clear colour diagrams makes this book suitable for both young and old alike. We at PPL train a mixture of age groups and find this book a very valuable reference and learning resource.
IF you are training to be a plumber either at a private college like PPL or a local FE college this is one of the books you MUST buy - excellent.
