Summary: Essential Reading - But by all means not the only answer
Comment: Ive been a part time dba for 4 years with mixed experience of using many pre9 databases on several platforms. Reading this book has taught me about the lesser used features of 9i, as well as building upon my knowledge as a whole - but there seem to be plenty of errors in the book, so digest with caution.
As suggested by Oracle, you will also need experience to pass the exam, as the book's examples are somewhat simplified and lacking in the type of "choose 3 correct answers out of the 6" questions which the actual exam seems full off. This means that unless you know your stuff, getting one of the 'n' answer questions wrong, means that you lose the whole mark. And with a passmark of 73% (at the time of writing) this can be make a difference.
Take your time with this book and investigating all the suggested views and making sure that you perform the exercises, (reading around the edges where necessary ) and this should help you pass.
Over all, a good book (and highly recommended despite my warnings), but is by no means the only thing you will need to pass the exams. Do check out the errata section of the osbourne site though:

Comment: This is a great book . Though it lacks elaborate information on NLS & Practice xams r easy & differ from the actual xams, it is a well written book. I got 85% in OCP after reading this book .Good work JAson & Sudheer.

Summary: Prepare for a shock in the exam.
Comment: I found the actual exam a real wake up call. The questions were noticably different from the practise questions in the book. If this book is your only study guide, I would suggest that your practice scores should be well into the 90%'s, though once you have taken the practise tests you start to memorize the answers which dosent help in the exam.
The supplied CD seems to have some buggy issues as well. The CD had questions requiring 2 boxes to be selected, but only radio buttons were presented, so you could not possibly be marked correctly.

Summary: Look elsewhere
Comment: Couchman has simply taken his 8i offering, added a few paragraphs pertaining to 9i features and spent little effort ensuring that the result makes any sense at all.
He even moves the NLS section into an appendix... why?
The mock exam questions are not at all similar to what you get in the exam ( I had 24 select n from m questions in the real exam, Couchman only includes one or two).
Dispite this I managed to pass with 80% for part 1 and 76% for part 2. You should also be aware that in the 'real' exam you get unmarked questions which is quite unnerving.
