Summary: Easy to install

Comment: I found the installation and usability of this product to be right on spot. I had no difficulty with the installation; it was probably one of the easiest installations that I've had in a while. The product performs as the cover indicates it will. All in all, I'm very happy with the product.

Summary: An Essential at our Office

Comment: You've heard of employees losing a laptop with 100,000 clients' credit card information, or 500,000 social security numbers? We don't want to be one of those companies. We work in Russia, US, England, and elsewhere, and can't afford to put clients' information at risk of a public breach. That's why we use McAfee Anti-Theft

Summary: Good but may be redundant

Comment: This is a nice product. However, if one already has Vista for business, then it may not be necessary because Vista has its own, built in encryption tool. The only other issue I really have is that we cannot know what the future holds in terms of the future security of folders encrypted with this product. Will a future program easily crack the encryption? Perhaps, but one can expect McAfee to continually update the product to keep pace with the hackers.

Summary: Easy to use

Comment: Very easy to install and use and has not caused any problems with my other programs. I like knowing that I have this protection, especially when traveling with my notebook. Recommended.

Summary: Simple to Use File Encryption Tool

Comment: Installation on Windows XP Home Edition was not bad. At first I got a strange error when specifying the file name for a new vault, but on the second attempt the installation went better.

Anti-Theft cannot be installed on Windows 2000 inspite of the instructions for Windows 2000 on the paper insert in the product box: a message pops up stating that Anti-Theft cannot be installed on this operating system (only on XP and Vista).

The user must define one or more vaults (folders) protected by a password. The software encrypts the entire vault. Using the software, the user can export a vault to a RW portable media. To get access to an unencrypted file, the user must open the vault containing this file by providing the password. This works for all users, including Guest user on Windows XP Home Edition.

If the user has more than one WindowsExplorer window open and locks a vault in one of those windows, the other windows still allow access to the files in the vault. Seems like a bug to me.

A very annoying "feature" is a popup asking you to register your email with MCaffee every time you use the tool.

I cannot comment on the reliability of the software and strength of the algorithm.
