Comment: Just what I needed to begin my research. The weblink application in impressive with the amount of information it returns in response to a query. It's easy to learn and use.

Summary: Great Seller, But Software Doesn't Work With VISTA
Comment: I bought this software because Family Tree Maker reviews indicated the latest FTM software (made to run with vista) wasn't nearly as good as the earlier Version 16. FTM does offer a Vista patch that's supposed to make Version 16 work with vista. While the software will run, the function that lets you export a family tree diagram to .pdf format causes the software to crash. FTM tech support was great to work with, but after 5 or 6 attempts, they still haven't found a way to make version 16 run on my new vista machine. The software does run just great on XP, and the vendor who sold this product to me was excellent. The only problem is the fact that FTM's vista patch doesn't fix everything it's supposed to fix. I'd buy FTM version 16 again if I didn't have vista. I'll go back to XP or buy a Mac before I buy any new PC with vista or 7.

Comment: This is my third (3rd) Family Tree Maker product. I have used them for several years. I now have in excess of 2,000 names in my data base. I found the new version a seamless conversion from my old version. This is one of the few software products [of any kind] that didn't disappoint me.
I am still discovering many powerful tools [by accident, as I'm 72 years old and I don't do well with instructions]that enhance family histories. I can recommend this product without any reservation to anyone.
