Summary: A Fact Book... Without the Facts!

Comment: I usually love this kind of "odd fact" book, but "The Ultimate Book of Useless Information" is nothing short of a train wreck. I noticed right away that even for a book of random facts, the sections are poorly written with almost no continuity or interesting detail. More importantly, though, it takes only a few minutes for someone of even average intelligence to spot errors that are so glaringly obvious, one wonders just what kind of rock this alleged author crawled out from.

For example, the author states that if the ice caps melted, the oceans would not rise! Why? According to the author, because water takes up the same amount of space whether it's frozen or not--never mind that the ice caps are ABOVE the ocean, not inside it!! Apparently, Noel has never put too many ice cubes into a full glass before! This kind of idiocy is unforgivable--not just for a professional author, but for an editor and publishing house as well.

Summary: 11 year old fascinates all

Comment: My husband purchased this book for our 11 year old son. My first thought was "what a waste of money". Little did I know the daily entertainment and education factor that would result from the purchase. Maybe I'm just amazed that my son's memory retains all those useless facts, but the end result is that I'm learning something new every day and my son is the teacher. It has boosted his self esteem since he knows things no one else does. We did have to censure the adults only section.

Summary: Too many mistakes

Comment: I love this kind of book, but this one contains far too many errors. If there are errors I know, I have to wonder how many other mistakes there are.
It could be a great book but the editor should have carried out a lot more fact checking

Summary: Add this to your shopping list!

Comment: You could live without this book. But, why would you want to? Why not possess more than 200 pages of useless information at your fingertips that are guaranteed to amaze, amuse and confuse your friends and family.

Documentation of the highest quality here enables you to name the fear of haircuts, define a dilemma with a third alternative, ask yourself why you probably enjoy on a daily basis a tasty treat that contains the ingredient usually found in car wax, etc.

Yes, clearly, this is a book that you cannot live without.

Bigger, better, and more useless than ever!

In their groundbreakingly useless book, The Book of Useless Information, the members of the Useless Information Society proved that knowledge doesn't have to be useful to be entertaining. Now they present a new collection of their most fascinating, hilarious, and wholly trivial findings. The Ultimate Book of Useless Information includes such "did you knows" as:

- Peanuts are one of the ingredients in dynamite
- The average person spends two weeks of their life kissing
- And giraffes have no vocal cords
