Summary: Good Book
Comment: It's a good book & I studied this book in the last weeks of my preparation but still failed the Cbest test. The Maths part really helped me, the reading was okey but barron's is better if you are really weak in the reading section. I prepared the essays according to this book but still failed so i have to figure out another way to get through the essay writing. Overall good book to crack math and may be reading for some.

Summary: Excellent Book
Comment: I highly recommend this book, it really helped me pass the CBEST exam. Also, it helps you prepare and know what to except.

Summary: This book is AMAZING!!!
Comment: I bought a Cbest book by Sharon Wynne which is a 2007 version and I was terribly confused and failed my Cbest test. I then wanted to try my luck again even though buying books had left a sour taste in my mouth and this book broke everything down in such a way that made perfect sense and the thing that stood out to me is that aside from it not having mistakes such as the previous book, it gave me great methods to use and explained everything thoroughly.
I noticed in Sharon's book that she had a tendency of skipping steps and I would have no idea how she would get the answer she came up with. Some books make the mistake of assuming that a step that is easy and obvious to them in their mind would be easy and obvious to the reader. Before buying the Princeton Review I dreaded math but now I really enjoy it. It's so easy. Thanks Rick Sliter. Princeton Review is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!

Summary: An Excellent Review Guide for CBEST
Comment: An excellent, comprehensive review guide for CBEST. Although CBEST is not the most difficult examination, it behooves you to review the format and familiarize yourself with the level of 'difficulty of, or the lack thereof, the exam. Familiarity does help. I used this guide for two hours the night before, and I passed with fairly high scores (close to 240) in all three sub-sections. I got it very cheaply, so the investment was well worth it. Good luck to all!

Summary: CBEST Tip.
Comment: I just passed the CBEST, and felt I should write a review because I know this book helped me pass. As you have seen there are many books on the market, but after reviewing a few and reading some reviews, I decided to go with this one and it helped. For someone who has not done algebra, fractions and some of the other fun stuff in a while, this book may either refresh your skills or teach you new ones, including test taking techniques I wish I had known in the 7th grade.
I also want to point out that the Math practice exam on the CBEST website, in my opinion, is more simple than the actual test, so the Princeton Review, I thought, is more up to par on the level of difficulty. Practice, understand the material and you'll be fine.
The reading section in this book was also helpful, the writing was alright. I think most of these prep books overdo it on the writing part actually, Of course you want to write coherent and focused essays, but you have to remember there are 2 and they don't expect you to write a 4 page responses for each. Practice an essay structure that works for you, don't get too elaborate, and most importantly use your time wisely.
I hope this helps and wish you luck on your exam!
