Summary: Good stuff
Comment: I bought this book because I already had one Shaum's series (in Mathematics) which was an instructive book. This German one is even better! It starts from simple articles (die der, das) which are extremely important in German and goes on to deal with all aspects of German grammar. It is a bit difficult to proceed on your own but trust me it covers all the grammar necessary to learn German. I am still on page 50 and feel I have learn't a great deal of German. I no more wonder what they are talking about on TV!
Mind you this won't help you learn speak German. It is not for tourists! Even after finishing the book you might have problems with vocabulary. The strong thing about this book is that after finishing it you will have a firm skeleton of the German language and in no time you can fill in the rest of the body by way of learning more words etc.
Highly recommenended for serious students (like me!).
